A new era for captcha’s?

If the market is concious about we, vintage lovers, maybe we could see this ad:

vintage campbells

AND WRITE THIS CAPTCHA:

A SPARKLE IN EVERY SPOONFUL!

instead of this one:

captcha1

:D

OR THIS ONE:

campbells 1

HEARTY TOMATO SOUP WITH PASTA

Vintage and Retro Fonts

I love adding new fonts to my folder. Needless to say, they are “vintage” style all of them. Normally I save them to an external drive and use them when needed, but sometimes I forget it as I see a list of fonts appearing right in front of my very eyes whenever I use Adobe Photoshop, Essentials or Paint Shop Pro X2.

I also save them on two websites “just in case” but at times they are so beautiful I can’t help to add them directly to my hard drive and keep the folder as clean as possible, right now occupying just 477Mb, which is all a success.

Nevertheless, these that follow I have added them to the hard drive as well, as they look so nice and special.

These are:

Campanille

Fortuna’s Wein

Herald Square

Matchbox

Parisian

Here is how they look:

These fonts are free to download and the page has many more that might be of interest to you.

Great Make Up Session!

cleo Who has never thought of being one day for Carnival one of the most seductive woman in the world (according to poems, history and perhaps imagination)… I am talking about the woman who bathed  around Mersa Matrouh, on the other side of the North of Egypt with her lover Marc Anthony…. Well, there are so many legends or truths regarding that area, but if one visits it then it will be normal to fall into the depths of creative stories from the inner brilliant spark of love that we all keep in the collective memories of stories about unfulfilled love, or love that ended in betrayal or love that ended in death.

Cleopatra’s eyes have been draught in so many paintings, and emulated in so many movies, eyes that see the depths of our souls, that go beyond the tangible, go beyond the mystery… and sparkle like pure diamonds… or emeralds….

WWW Stendhal Syndrome

ClaraBow

It is great to have connections over internet regarding all sorts of things and subjects we like/enjoy. But after sometime I have discovered that some places are perhaps less appealing to me and frankly I could not say why exactly. So today I received a comment that I should approve on one of my pages inviting me to be a member of a group at yahoo dedicated to Clara Bow…. Clara Bow is one of  the silent actress I have seen less movies about. I like her allure, her pose and I know there is a serious association dedicated to this actress. I remember only Pandora’s Box featuring CB. I have read a lot about her about three years ago. I do not have time to do all the things I like. I would become nuts. And this is what Internet can give us, a magical extremely vast array of places where one can get immersed for hours without realizing. Then, feel tired and still wanting to see more. The Stendhal Syndrome right in front of your computer.

Stupid question of the day:

Why do women have sex? (Check the answer in case you don’t know)
Do we need to explain that?
Why do I like eating, why do I like good weather, why do I like shopping, why do I like holidays, why do I like working in what I like, why do I like having spare time, why do I like having friends?
Do we really need high tech explanations for this? Awesome.

Places I love visiting on the net

Capture Today I discovered Dame Elizabeth Taylor Twitter Page, it all seems so easy to be near the people we love and yet will mostly never meet in person! I am so glad she keeps us informed first hand about how she is going. I wish I could say they same about Michael. Everything seems so mixed regarding this point. Some may think he is sneaking around under an anonymous and cute nickname twitting too… I did not want to attend This is It. Now I feel I want to but because perhaps I could get the chance to see something between the frames. I still grief for this loss. Will I be able to recover from this?

Places I like visiting on the net almost every day /if possible/ are:

First, Google News. I watch the most important headlines and then go straight to Google Reader. I like it although still difficult to get to read the “friends only” entries regarding Lj. But Lj… is a place I seldom visit lately.

I have this great Google rss reader as I say, filled with tags here and there: Ebay, Bookmooch, The Internet Archive, The Project Gutenberg… I love old books. It is really helpful. Today I found a book online I was looking for since years now. These people are doing such a great job.

Photos. Yes!, I love old photos, from movies, from countries, so I love Flickr.  Videos about love, children, compassion, about Michael as well, never ending videos every day the list is long enough to keep me delighted and filled with memories. My heart will go on…

lesliebanks_vivienleigh_21daystogetherLeslie Banks, Ludmilla Tcherina, Ann Dvorak, Betty Amann, Dorothy Burgess, Jetta Goudal among my favorite Ebay searches, postcards of ladies, of gentlemen, of silent actors and actresses. I just feel I have not enough time to check everything. But I just enjoy watching what news are waiting everyday in this rss reader by Google, a very simple tool.

Who loves Incredimail? I do! I belong to several groups mainly vintage. Check my blog about it on right pane if you like. I wish I had more time to dedicate to it. Now I am pro digital scrapping but don’t know exactly where to begin. I want to create my own elements. This takes a lot of time. But I will try.

Then the emails. So much junk mail everywhere. Never tired of knocking at my door. Patience…
