The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt by Caroline Preston

Flapper era lovers and readers, I have been so greatly impressed with some of the pages  of the book "The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt". I really enjoy scrapbooking but now this is a fiction novel made as a scrapbooking book and it is amazing. A great idea that... I am sure some others will take as a possible future novel as well. I would love to do this to a book I write about my own life, there is so much to say and lots of travel too.

Here are some examples of the pages that appear in the book and I am sure it is going to become a huge success!

You can visit Caroline Preston's website at www.carolinepreston.com

The book can be found on Amazon and many independent bookstores.

I have to say, I was amazed at the well explained tutorial for this effect.

Textures–Vintage Paper

I used to keep a blog dedicated to scrapbooking. Due to family issues I didn’t have much time to dedicate to it. But I really enjoyed it, took some lessons from great people who master this subject so very well, giving me advice regarding techniques, the way I should save up time doing image skills, creating papers, what kind of program to use on occasion.. It’s an activity so creative and which makes one want to become more and more perfectionist and professional. So my blog is still waiting for me to do something about it. Perhaps I will add it here, since this blog is about Everything Vintage!

Here I found some interesting textures that you could use for your scrapbooking or maybe for your blogs or websites. I find them very nice, especially the second one:

Vintage and Retro Fonts

I love adding new fonts to my folder. Needless to say, they are “vintage” style all of them. Normally I save them to an external drive and use them when needed, but sometimes I forget it as I see a list of fonts appearing right in front of my very eyes whenever I use Adobe Photoshop, Essentials or Paint Shop Pro X2.

I also save them on two websites “just in case” but at times they are so beautiful I can’t help to add them directly to my hard drive and keep the folder as clean as possible, right now occupying just 477Mb, which is all a success.

Nevertheless, these that follow I have added them to the hard drive as well, as they look so nice and special.

These are:

Campanille

Fortuna’s Wein

Herald Square

Matchbox

Parisian

Here is how they look:

These fonts are free to download and the page has many more that might be of interest to you.

Misted Tube -Camden High School Drawing Woman

1912 Nellie Doyle CAMDEN HIGH SCHOOL Drawing Woman NJ

This misted tube comes from a 1910 original postcard found on the web.

I liked the pose and expression of the model and inspired me to create a misted tube. I do not own the rights for the drawing creation only the image manipulation I did with it. I hope you will enjoy this misted tube.

Its dimensions are 424x800 pixels, and it is in RGB/ 8 bits/channel.
